The birth of the group is closely linked to the situation of exile and wandering of the Tuareg people. It is the very emanation of this diaspora, of its Saharan history. Tatrite's musicians are children of their parents’s exile in the 1970s in Algeria. We are in 2012, it is there, in Algeria, that they form their first group and then they return to Kidal. Since then, the group has performed in all regions of Mali. The music of the group Tatrite Sahara is a mixed music that takes you on a journey always punctuated by the footsteps of camels. As often in the Tuareg groups, their sung poetry addresses the problems of exile, the difficulty of everyday life. They speak of love and hope, for the youngest, in these times of trial. Their songs are living, sound forms of the contemporary identity of the Tuareg people. The group Tatrite Sahara is one of the heirs of the legendary group, founder of this contemporary Tuareg music, Tinariwen. They recorded their first EP in January 2019 at the Bogolan studio in Bamako Mali.
